About

Avid Visual Imagery

At an early age the owner Phillip Kitts had a passion for photography.  This passion carried out into his military career where he shot a photograph of a Kiowa helicopter flying between buildings in Mosul, Iraq.

He sent the picture to his mother who showed it off to some friends and family members.  A gentleman approached his mother and offered $50 dollars so he could publish it in a local newspaper and Magazine in Nevada.  The image of the Kiowa has been used to market and visually reference articles in a Nevada local newspaper and magazines.

After becoming medically retired from the military as a Sergeant First Class, Phillip decided to use photography as a form of therapy during his transition from military life.  Avid Visual Imagery is the product of being at the right place at the right time to capture the Kiowa feet off of the ground flying between buildings and making $50 while serving as a Squad Leader in the United States Army.

What was a simple idea has turned into a full-fledged business of photography in Manhattan KS.
